In an analysis of the local property sector, research firm Colliers International revealed that for the first quarter of 2004, licenses approved by the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) increased to 88,877 units or by nearly 34 percent compared with the same period last year. All property sectors, except for high-rise residential and commercial condominiums, showed year-on-year expansions, it said.

But RFM president and CEO Jose Concepcion III told The STAR that the ‘loss’ phase is just a step which the company has to undergo to achieve its goal of being the leader in all its brands. "Already, our Fiesta brand (noodles) is almost number one," he said.

Imagine my surprise when I learned that the Rockwell Place in Makati was charging its unit owners as much as P20,000 a month for a three-bedroom unit. 


Effective last Jan. 1, the board of trustees of the Rockwell Residential Towers Condominium Corp. increased the dues by P10.40 per square meter. And if the increased dues cannot still sustain an increase in Meralco rates above the budgeted P5 per kilowatthour, another round of increase can be expected within the year.
