Senior Fire Officer 2 Felipe Caguing, arson investigator, said the fire started in the house of one Elsa Gallantes in Barangay Sto. Niño, around 11:34 a.m. when one of the household members forgot to watch over food being cooked in the kitchen.
Caguing said the stove overheated and caused a fire that immediately spread to neighboring houses. Most of the houses are made of light materials.
