A biodiesel mega farm project that incorporates the cultivation, processing and marketing of biodiesel will soon rise in Nueva Vizcaya under the auspices of the biggest university in the province. 


Initially tagged as the Nueva Vizcaya Biodiesel Mega Farm, the project will convert the 5,400 hectares of idle land under the Belance Reservation in Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya into what would soon be the first large-scale producer of biodiesel from the non-edible shrub jatropha curcas.

                    [Summary] => BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — An Australian company which the government has allowed to mine multi-billion gold and copper deposits in a mountain village here has granted an initial P1 million for a scholarship program for at least 100 indigent college students in the province.


Engineer Arnel Arrojo, project director of the Australasia-Philippines Mining Inc. (APMI), said the program was formalized in a memorandum of agreement (MOA) entered into by the company and the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) this week.
