[Summary] =>
Indeed, the political kettle is starting to heat up. In Cebu City, the local press has reported that no less than former Cebu City mayor Alvin Garcia is offering his son Raymond to be the vice mayoralty candidate of The Freeman chairman Jose "Dodong" Gullas if he is seeking the mayoralty post.

[Title] => No-el in 2007 is immoral and unacceptable!
[Summary] => Politically, there is no question that the year 2005 was one of the most dramatic years in Philippine political history. After all the coup and impeachment attempts brought to bear by Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (GMA) she has survived even the darkest moments of her Presidency, notably the "Hello Garci" scandal.

[Title] => Federalism preserves dying languages!
[Summary] => Last Saturday evening, my wife Jessica and I sat down at the Waterfront Hotel lobby with Dr. Jose "Pepe" Abueva of the Kalayaan College for an intense two-hour discussion on the prospects of Federalism, which he is proposing for the country. Indeed, we must give credit where credit is due; the concept of Federalism started from the group of Dr. Abueva and the Citizens Movement for a Federal Philippines (CMFP). It doesnt mean to say that theyre the only ones who are espousing for a Federal and Parliamentary system in this country.
