                    [Summary] => CEBU — The Mandaue City Regional Trial Court has ordered the arrest of four of five National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents and three of several confidential agents charged with multiple frustrated murder and double attempted murder for a botched drug operation that nearly killed six innocent resort workers last December.


Judge Ulric Canete signed the other day the arrest warrants against NBI agents Danilo Garay, Teodoro Saavedra, Arnel Pura and Rey Tumalon and confidential agents Joey Cal, Ric Cruz and Eric Ayag.

"We will warn them. Kung gahi gyud, we will create a law streamlining the NBI organization or we will abolish it and create a new investigating agency. I will sell this idea to Congress," said Cuenco.

                    [Summary] => CEBU CITY — The Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas has placed the Central Visayas director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and five of his agents, who were implicated in the botched drugs operation last Dec. 13, under six-month preventive suspension. 


The suspension order, issued by Ombudsman director Virginia Palanca-Santiago and approved by Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Primo Miro the other day, came three days after criminal and administrative charges were filed against NBI regional director Romulo Manapsal and his five agents.
