Koronadal City – Thousands of families were displaced after heavy rains that started Tuesday last week, unleashed floods in two towns in Sultan Kudarat province, officials said yesterday.

Sultan Kudarat jail warden Esperidion Robles said the escapees sawed the iron grills of their cell and clambered over the jail’s concrete wall at about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Jail guards fired 15 warning shots, but three of the escapees ignored them and escaped, leaving behind Allan Labay, who is charged with car theft.
