Manila Mayor Lito Atienza has ordered the immediate dismissal from service and the filing of criminal cases against a former official and five volunteers of the Boys Town Complex (BTC) who abused some of the facility’s wards recently.


Atienza issued the directive upon the recommendation of a special investigating committee that was tasked to looked into alleged sexual molestation and physical abuses performed against BTC’s former officer-in-charge (OIC) and five street educators.

No, President Arroyo was neither addressing her Cabinet nor her critics, but the children at Manila Boys Town in Parang, Marikina after they turned unruly as food was distributed to them by no less than the Chief Executive yesterday.

"Behave, fall in line, everybody will have their share," the President told the children.

The 159 kids at the rehabilitation facility received an early Christmas treat from the President, who visited the complex to distribute gifts and food to the young wards.
