The Neil Pryde-skippered Hi Fidelity and the Fred Kinmonth-captained Stella Minter Ellison came off with a 1-2 finish at presstime and under the provisional results of the Open Racing Class.
The 7,500 kilogram Hi Fidelity reached the finishing buoy of the 10-nautical mile windward-leeward race off Kalaklan Point in two hours, 24 minutes and 40 seconds.

Karakoa, with helmsman Steve Benjamin’s guidance, made it to the finish line in the Open Division’s fourth race — an eight-nautical mile windward-leeward course, in one hour, 18 minutes and 22 seconds.
Ray Ordoveza’s crew made it just as the 18-knot westerly winds coming from Grande Island’s direction died down and an easterly breeze from the beaches of Barreto started picking up.
