Miami Heat center Shaquille O’Neal is the prime example of a basketball star who has dabbled seriously in music. He has released six rap albums so far.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson, as Jewelz, cut a rap album entitled "Non-Fiction" but it never saw the light of day because of the controversial track "40 Bars" which drew howls of protest for its allegedly violent and anti-gay lyrics.
