"The proposed amendment is sound and good. But in the end, I think it will still be the prerogative of the President. Because even if it is amended, we still need her signature," said Ramirez.


Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose Cojuangco announced last Thursday the creation of a bill that seeks to amend Republic Act 6847 which led to the creation of the PSC.

Before the country’s finest athletes, both amateur and professional, Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose Cojuangco yesterday called for a major change in the set-up of Philippine sports.


Cojuangco spoke at the annual Philippine Sportswriters Association Awards rites at the SM Mall of Asia, and after toasting RP’s greatest sports achievers in 2006 delivered the big news.
