                    [Summary] => As an education official, I have had the opportunity to travel to different parts of the country, places where the management committee of DepEd held their monthly meetings. In addition, my participation in the yearly Palarong Pambansa whose venues shifted from one regional capital to another, also gave me an occasion to observe the socio-cultural conditions in various areas. But why am I bringing this out?


My purpose is to give weight to the following observations on Cebu as well as on the kind of people the Cebuanos are compared to other sub-cultural groups in the country.

                    [Summary] => Our good friend, Sen. Manuel "Mar" Roxas suddenly has taken to task Malacañang saying, "What good is a strong peso if the people don't benefit from it?" Without any doubt, this statement reeks with ulterior motives. I mean, why is it all of the sudden, Sen. Mar is sounding like one who belongs to the opposition? His statement is really some kind of "motherhood statement" which many politicians have used for years. The recent win of the Congress I party in India used it to win back political power, stating that India's rapid economic growth has not helped the poor.
