[Summary] => The Department of Finance (DOF) said yesterday the government is willing to compromise with banks in the settlement of some P22 billion unpaid taxes of foreign currency deposit units (FCDUs).
Finance Secretary Margarito B. Teves said yesterday that although he was certain the letter of the law gave the government a "legal leg to stand on," he was less certain about what the DOF could "realistically collect" from banks.
