                    [Summary] => The recent opening of the 14-hectare Lukutang Maliit waste facility, the most modern and environment-friendly landfill in the country today, is expected to ease the garbage woes of Metro Manila which President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo placed under a state of calamity due to overflowing trash last year.


The Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers, Inc. (PSSEI) designed the Lukutang Maliit Landfill in San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal. It can accommodate around 3,000 tons of trash daily and has a life span of seven years.
