Rustica Carpio, an institution in theater, recently reprised her role as Sisa in the one-act dramatic monologue she herself wrote. Entitled Sisa, it was shown at the Paco Park in coordination with the National Parks Development Committee and the National Broadcasting Network and at the Far Eastern University (FEU) Auditorium in coordination with the FEU President’s Committee on Culture.
Just as kinang means luster, Tita Inang brought sparkle to our lives. The many times I saw her every year (including always on her birthdays), her joie de vivre would be evident from the moment she greeted me. She had so much enthusiasm, so much energy. One time, she called up excitedly, inviting us to lunch at this new noodle house near her place. She couldn’t wait for us to try her latest gastronomic discovery.
