PNOC-Exploration Corp. (PNOC-EC), the oil and gas exploration unit of state-run Philippine National Oil Co., expects to spend close to $1 billion for the exploration and development of the Camago-Malampaya oil leg (CMOL), a top company official said.

"It will push through. By mid-April, we can expect PNOC-EC to make a bidding announcement," Balce said. PNOC-Exploration Corp. is the oil and gas exploration subsidiary of state-owned Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC).

"We hope to push through with the development of this resource in the soonest possible time. First quarter is a good target," Lotilla said.
