[Title] => Alcatel Phils. eyes $200-million sales this year
[Summary] => Alcatel Phils. Inc. (API) expects to defy industry trends once again this year, with sales projected to reach $200 million in an industry characterized by declining sales and sagging bottomlines.
Last year, total company sales reached $190 million, or double that of 2000s $90 million, with the mobile network division accounting for the largest chunk of business. And while Alcatels business doubled, that of its competitors dropped. In 2001, Lucents division here generated sales of $8 million while Nortel managed only $15 million.
