It's the second day of January 2015 and let's start this year with very important lessons that hopefully our readers would end up realizing that they should never, never accept the status quo and find ways to change things in this New Year 2015.

This is our first column for the Year 2015 and before I wrote this piece, I re-read all my previous New Year’s columns in the last five years and come to think of it, those first columns for the New Year sounded very much the same… as if time stood still! In my 2012 column, I quoted a letter from Mr. Joe Nacilla and let me reprint that portion that he wrote.

I was out for four days in Sydney, Australia and therefore out of circulation because we were off to see so many tourism sites in Australia.

Yesterday I had lunch with my fellow STAR columnist Ma’am Chit Pedrosa and we had so many issues that we discussed on the table and her favorite topics: crowd sourcing constitutional change, the National Transformation Council (NTC) and the issue of the Bangsamoro Peace Pact. Speaking of the Bangsamoro peace deal, I was bewildered by that STAR report that came out last April 21, Monday wherein the chief government peace negotiator Miriam Coronel-Ferrer asked the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) before Holy Week to “stop the kidnappings?”

Last Wednesday I was able to play my first round for the 33rd Coral Invitational Golf Tournament despite the efforts by the Associated Labor Unions to disrupt the golf tournament of the Cebu Country Club by urging the caddies to go on strike.
