PAOAY, Ilocos Norte — Kalinga policemen disarmed and detained for nine hours the provincial chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and three of his men last Friday.


A joint team of the Tabuk police and the Regional Mobile Group divested Chief Inspector Rolando Osias, CIDG-Kalinga chief, and his three men of their firearms and detained them Friday noon, releasing them only at about 9 p.m. the same day.

                    [Summary] => BAGUIO CITY — The Abra chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) was relieved from his post last week following raids on three houses in Lagayan town, including the municipal mayor’s, that resulted in the seizure of high-powered guns.  


Chief Inspector Rolando Osias, who was ordered back to Baguio City, has turned over his post to Chief Inspector Wency Beswilan. 


Two weeks ago, Osias, together with Abra policemen, raided three houses in Lagayan on the strength of search warrants, and seized several high-powered guns.

                    [Summary] => BAGUIO CITY — A brother of an Abra town mayor was arrested last Tuesday by elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Cordillera (CIDG-CAR) for the killing of three villagers last October.


Florencio Crisologo, 41, brother of Tineg Mayor Edwin Crisologo, was nabbed even as their supporters tried to prevent the arrest by barricading the Crisologos’ residence in Barangay Calaba in the capital town of Bangued.
