[Title] => Solon says MJ cannot be arrested
[Summary] => House Majority Leader Neptali Gonzales II said yesterday Manila Rep. Mark Jimenez, who is facing extradition to the United States, cannot be arrested until the current session of Congress ends in June next year.

If the Supreme Court upholds its previous ruling canceling Jimenez’s bail bond and the lower court orders his arrest, Gonzales said he believes his colleague from Manila would be protected by his constitutional immunity from arrest.

Mario Crespo, better known as Mark Jimenez or "MJ."

The lawmakers filed Resolution 762 yesterday apparently in anticipation of a Supreme Court decision which they expect could adversely affect Jimenez’s extradition case and pave the way for the congressman’s return to the US.

In their resolution, the House members said Jimenez is a duly elected representative of the sixth district of Manila.
