Senior Fire Officer 2 Felipe Caguing, arson investigator, said the fire started in the house of one Elsa Gallantes in Barangay Sto. Niño, around 11:34 a.m. when one of the household members forgot to watch over food being cooked in the kitchen.
Caguing said the stove overheated and caused a fire that immediately spread to neighboring houses. Most of the houses are made of light materials.

[Summary] => Three fires hit three densely populated neighborhoods in Metro Manila yesterday, leaving 10 hurt and destroying some 120 houses.
In Tondo Manila, six persons were hurt when a fire, reportedly caused by faulty electrical wiring, razed 50 houses in residential neighborhood before noon.
Residents also reported two children missing. Both were believed to have been trapped in one of the burning houses.
As of press time, firefighters have not recovered bodies from the debris during mopping up operations.
