[Summary] => A child abuse case was filed yesterday before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office against a teacher who allegedly made two of her students eat pencil shavings as a form of punishment.
Brenda Elbambuena, 45, a teacher of the Silangan Elementary School Main (SESM), was charged based on the complaint filed by one of the students and her mother.
Elbambuena also faces an additional case of child abuse or charges of homicide pending the outcome of an autopsy on student Maria Delmar Redota, who died of acute tonsillitis last week.

SPO3 Regie Gapasin, of the Taguig Police Station, said they visited Brenda Elbambuena, at her residence in Barangay Upper Bicutan yesterday but did not find her there.
Gapasin said the house was locked and the teacher reportedly has not showed up in the house since the alleged child abuse was reported by the victim’s parents to school authorities. Since then, the suspect has also not reported for work.
