[Summary] => These past weeks and months, this columnist has ambled into a number of coffee shops, hotel lobbies, diplomatic receptions, combo cafes, banking establishments and whatnot, meeting of course people, mostly middle or upper middle class. More than three years ago, virtually the same people celebrated the Centennial, the onset of the 21st century with great pomp and flourish. They were hitched to the stars.
