An explosive expert of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) yesterday urged the police to further investigate the explosives recovered from a passenger of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) in Caloocan City last Friday afternoon, since the items seized might not be firecrackers since it could caused a huge explosion and create damage as wide as 20 meters in radius.

A man about to board a Light Rail Transit (LRT) train at the Monumento station in Caloocan City was arrested yesterday afternoon by police after a security guard discovered he was carrying firecrackers inside his bag.


LRT spokesperson Jinky Jorgio identified the man as Bernie Siguenza, 21, of Barangay Sta. Cruz in Buhi, Camarines Sur.


The suspect was carrying a bag containing several firecrackers placed inside a plastic bag.
