[Title] => Readers react to La Salle row
[Summary] => A lot of readers sent in texts yesterday expressing their sentiments on the La Salle scandal involving two academically ineligible senior varsity basketball players.

Here’s what they said.

Philippine Basketball Association commissioner Noli Eala, who attended La Salle Greenhills high school and earned his Liberal Arts (major in political science) and law degrees at Ateneo: "The theme of closing ranks and total investigation is correct. I also think the UAAP Board should take a more urgent, proactive stance."

But I’m betting sales of Cigar Aficionado’s July/August 2005 issue, featuring National Basketball Association (NBA) legend Michael Jordan on the cover, hit the roof.

Cigar Aficionado, which comes out six times a year, is called "the good life magazine for men." The New York publication is a lavish 242-page glossy tribute to cigar smokers and made its debut on the shelves in 1992. The size is bigger than the usual magazine, making it a unique 9 1/4 by 11 3/4 inches.
