[Title] => Letter to the Editor – Plebiscite is the proper time and venue
[Summary] => There's so much fuss among some of our Cebuano politicians about the refusal of Representative Emilio Macias, House Committee Chair on Local Government, to conduct the public hearing in Cebu regarding the proposed bills seeking to create three new provinces of Cebu. I wonder if Rep. Macias can be compelled to conduct said hearing here. There is certainly no provision in any law that requires him to hold the same in the place where the proposal has bearing with.

[Title] => Letter to the Editor - Sugbu-ak: A misnomer
[Summary] => Why do people opposed to the proposal seeking to create three new provinces in Cebu love to call the move "Sugbu-ak"? The proposed creation of the provinces of Cebu del Sur, Cebu Occidental and Cebu del Norte, out of the first, second and third districts of Cebu, respectively, is not intended to disintegrate this province into pieces. The real "division," if it is so deeply well understood, dwells only on territorial jurisdiction and not geographical break-up, much less dislocation.
