[Summary] => CAMP AQUINO, Tarlac — The military has tagged the New People’s Army (NPA) in the July 20 killing of the 18-year-old son of a municipal councilor in Aurora.
Lt. Gen. Romeo Dominguez, commanding officer of the Armed Forces’ Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom), said "there is no doubt" that NPA rebels were behind the killing of Jeffrey Verances, son of councilor Herminio Verances of San Luis, Aurora.
Dominguez added though that the police are also looking into "all other possible angels" in the killing.

[Summary] => The Czech Republic has extended support to the rural electrification efforts of the Philippine government with a grant for a mini-hydro power plant project.
In a contract signing yesterday, the Czech Republic has committed the installation of a 750-kilowatt mini-hydro power project to benefit about 27,000 residents in the Municilities of San Luis and Baler in Aurora province.
The 750-kW mini-hydro project will be constructed in Barangay Ditumabo, San Luis and will be financed through a P10- million grant from the Czech Republic.

The military here said that the army troopers, led by Capt. Eufronio Villaluz, were on a routine security patrol in Sitio Salaksak, Barangay Ditumabo in San Luis, Aurora at around 3:30 pm Thursday when ambushed by the rebels.
