[Title] => Banaue: Leisure and adventure
[Summary] => A man was slain in Banaue on Christmas Day. He was resting at the public market when someone crept up behind him and pounded his head on a brick wall. In Ifugao tradition, relatives must bury him at noon three days later. They have a suspect, although witnesses are hesitant to talk. Before the funeral the menfolk, wearing g-string and gourd headdress, hop in himong (war dance) to the rhythm of pagkong (bamboo tubes) and gangsa (gongs) back to the crime spot. Waving bolos and spears, they form a circle in solidary intent of dumalong (revenge).
