The Department of Agriculture (DA) is meeting with players in the trucking and freight industry to determine the impact of new loading regulations on the transport and pricing of rice and other agricultural commodities.

"In addition to being accident prone, extended dump boxes and body walls cause danger to our structures like viaducts and bridges," Leonilo Javier, PNCC tollways group head, said.

The PNCC said numerous accidents, several of which have been fatal, were caused by the extended vehicles hitting tollway structures.
