Tan received a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Humane Letters (honoris causa) in formal graduation rites at the University of Guam (UOG) last Sunday.


Tan, who is also an adopted son and Ambassador-at-Large of this Western Pacific island, received the honorary title from Dr. Harold Allen, UOG president, and Ronald Leach, chairman of the UOG board of regents.

Billionaire tycoon Lucio Tan was recently conferred an honorary Doctorate in Applied Agriculture (Honoris Causa)  by the Central Luzon State University in  ceremonies at the elegant ballroom of the Century Park Hotel, the metro bay area’s premier hotel.
