Tropical storm "Marce" continues to intensify as it moves north-northwest of the country.

In its 5 a.m. report, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that "Marce" was last located 330 kms east northeast of Aparri, Cagayan with a maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of 170 kph.

The typhoon is forecast to be 270 kms east northeast of Basco, Batanes tomorrow.

Signal number 2 is up in Cagayan , Babuyan and Batanes group of islands while signal number 1 is up in Isabela, Apayao and Kalinga.
