While I was in Baguio recently I got to talk to Erick Kim, who lives in Boracay. Erick and his Labrador Julie won third place in the Alpo Frisbee Challenge held recently in the City of Pines.

Kim told me about the sad plight of Julie in Boracay because the law enforcers on the island have become more strict with dogs that roam the beach.

The weather in Baguio last Saturday was chilly. Perfect bed weather for those of us who love to sleep in on weekends. But that was not to be for my Toy Poodle Gorby and me as we were in the Pine City to cheer for our favorite canine Frisbee players.

It’s off to Baguio today to watch the finals of the Alpo Frisbee Challenge at SM Baguio.

This is the third year that I will be at the Alpo Frisbee Challenge, and I am looking forward to seeing what these high-flying doggies will be able to do.

A weekend at the mall is no fun for me. I prefer to go to the mall on days when people are fewer and traffic is light. But when anything dog is playing at mall as the main event for the weekend, there are no excuses. It’s off to the mall for me.

Bora was sizzling that Sunday when we made our way there to catch the first ever Alpo Frisbee Challenge.

As we searched for the best spot on the beach, we watched the doggies, their tongues hanging out – they too were feeling the heat. With temperatures soaring to 38 degrees that afternoon, it was no wonder the dogs opted to sit on the sand under the cool shade of the trees.
