Councilor Rodrigo Abellanosa quickly abstained from supporting a resolution commending Junio, saying such will only give pressure to the boy in setting a new record.

"Although I acknowledge his performance, but it would give pressure to the boy for him to break the existing record and this can be repeated in the future," Abellanosa said.

Although the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon attracted over 40,000 runners last year, it really doesn't prove that the Honkies are active people. In fact a research showed that more people died from lack of physical activity than from tobacco consumption. A study in 1998 revealed that Hong Kong residents aged over 35 who died, lacked physical activity.
