Navi Philippines settles for silver in MWI 2026

MANILA, Philippines - Navi Philippines fell short in its bid to reclaim the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Women's Invitational (MWI) title after falling to Indonesia's Team Vitality in the grand finals of the tournament at the Esports World Cup in Paris, France.
After last year's early exit, Navi returned to the global stage as the Philippines' lone representative in MWI 2026.
The campaign got off to a slow start as Navi suffered a 0-2 loss to Cambodia's Galaxy Phoenix in the group stage, dropping to the lower bracket.
Facing elimination, the Filipino squad found itself on the brink after Falcon Daisies took the opening game of their matchup. But Navi completed a reverse sweep against the Myanmar representatives to keep its tournament run alive.
The victory sparked a turnaround for the 2024 MWI champion.
Navi secured a playoff berth with a 2-0 sweep of North American champion Gen.G Esports before taking down Malaysia-Singapore qualifier winner Team Rey Young in the quarterfinals.
The semifinals then saw Navi face Galaxy Phoenix once more but this time, the Filipino squad got its revenge, sweeping the Cambodian team, 3-0, to book a spot in the grand finals.
Standing in the way of Navi and the championship was defending champion Team Vitality, setting up a rematch of the 2024 MWI grand finals.
Navi drew first blood in the series after taking Game 1, but Team Vitality answered back with victories in Games 2 and 3 to seize the advantage.
The Filipino team kept its hopes alive with a Game 4 win, but Team Vitality regained control in the succeeding games, capitalizing on key team fights and favorable drafts to secure the championship and become the first team to win back-to-back MWI titles.
With MWI 2026 concluded, all eyes now turn to the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2026.
Team Falcons Philippines will open its campaign against China's Guangzhou Gaming on July 22 at 6:30 p.m. (Manila time), while MSC defending champion Team Liquid Philippines faces Türkiye's Aurora Gaming on July 23 at 6:30 p.m.
