Go rules ICTSI Pradera

Lloyd Go

LUBAO, Pampanga, Philippines — Lloyd Go completed a rare back-to-back sweep on the Philippine Golf Tour, following his dominant win in the mountains with a one-shot victory at the ICTSI Pradera Verde Championship yesterday.

Go closed with a 1-under-par 71 at Pradera Verde’s wind-swept Arayat course to finish at 9-under 279, edging veteran Tony Lascuña by one stroke. The win came a week after he captured the Pinewoods title by 12 shots, showcasing his ability to adapt from the severe elevation changes of Baguio to the flat, open fairways of Pampanga. He earned P359,000 for the victory.

“I played the front nine today really solid,” Go said. “I had a lot of chances at the back nine but I didn’t really make any putts.”

Unlike his runaway win at Pinewoods, Go was pressed throughout the final round.

Lascuña birdied the par-5 18th for a 70 to finish second at 280 and collect P234,000. It was his second runner-up finish of the season after losing by one stroke to Angelo Que at Caliraya Springs.
