Knicks' Jordan Clarkson enters NBA Finals scoring column

MANILA, Philippines — Jordan Clarkson is in the NBA Finals scoreboard.
The other Filipino-American in the NBA’s Big Dance has finally scored his first points of the New York Knicks’ series with the San Antonio Spurs.
It came by way of a 3-pointer with 9:12 to go in the second quarter of Game 3 on Tuesday (Manila time) as the Knicks then trailed the Spurs, 33-40.
Clarkson scored anew on a driving layup with 5:23 left in the same period to put his halftime production at five points, as New York seized control after two quarters, 64-57.
The former Gilas Pilipinas standout has seen limited minutes in the Finals. Prior to Game 3, he had only played in Game 1, seeing action for six minutes.
In contrast, the Spurs’ Dylan Harper has been outshining his Fil-Am counterpart, posting impressive averages with 11.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
He has played all three outings so far and has six points at the half in Game 3.
Clarkson, though, is in a better position with the Knicks ahead of the series 2-0.
He and Harper have made headlines for injecting Philippine representation in the Finals.
