Choco Mucho acquires Catindig, Encarnacion
MANILA, Philippines — Choco Mucho boasts one of the PVL’s best liberos in Thang Ponce.
But it dawned on the Flying Titans they needed another one.
Enter Dawn Catindig, who was tapped Wednesday by the franchise to further shore up its already formidable floor defense and prepare for the PVL on Tour slated late next month.
Catindig will form a fearsome duo with Ponce, being both best libero awardees, with the former winning the plum four years ago and the latter just this All-Filipino Conference last month.
The Flying Titans also tapped another gem in Jewel Encarnacion, formerly of Cignal, who should help fill the void left by star player Sisi Rodina, who is loaned to the national beach volley team preparing for this September’s Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
“Just blessed to be given this opportunity to play for Choco Mucho,” said a teary eyed Encarnacion.
