Tiamzon brings attack, savvy to Akari
MANILA, Philippines — The Akari Power Chargers have acquired veteran wing spiker Tin Tiamzon with hopes of completing the roster that can give them a shot at a Premier Volleyball League crown.
“A steady presence and a reliable force on the court,” said the team of Tiamzon on social media yesterday.
Tiamzon joined several others who have found a new home after the Cignal HD Spikers went on an indefinite leave.
Vanie Gandler and Erika Santos went to Capital1, Erin Pangilinan joined Creamline, and Gel Cayuna and Jackie Acuña moved over to Nxled.
Tiamzon will be a big addition to a squad already loaded with talent in Ivy Lacsina, Fifi Sharma, Grethcel Soltones, Ced Domingo, Faith Nisperos, Eli Soyud, Justine Jazareno and Mars Alba.
The franchise is hopeful Tiamzon would provide an added punch for a team aching for a breakthrough crown.
The PVL will be back with “On Tour” next month.
