Gin Kings rout winless Black Knights

MANILA, Philippines -- Barangay Ginebra added to the Macau Black Knights' woes, sending the guest team to its third straight PBA Commissioner’s Cup loss following a 110-93 beatdown Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The debuting Gin Kings outscored the winless Black Knights 39-22 in the second quarter and never looked back, leading by as much as 23 points in the victory.
Justin Brownlee carried the offensive load for Ginebra with 31 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks, while RJ Abarrientos finished with 25 markers, seven dummies and six boards on a game-high +- of +23.
Ginebra was leading by just three, 24-21, at the end of the first quarter, before Abarrientos waxed hot with 13 points in the second frame as the winning squad broke the game wide open, 63-43, at the half.
Macau tried to storm back, but the crowd darlings just could not be stopped as they breezed through to the victory.
Stephen Holt and Troy Rosario had 13 and 11 points, respectively, for Ginebra. Norbert Torres chipped in 10 points in the winning effort.
Damian Chong Qui powered the Black Knights with 28 points, with 21 coming in the second half. Jenning Leung backstopped with 21 markers, five boards and two dimes.
