Korean still in control at Splendido

LAUREL, Batangas – The third round of the Philippine Golf Tour Qualifying School turned into a day-long duel at Splendido Taal Golf Club Thursday as Lee Song, Enrico Gallardo and Ivan Yabut battled like there was no tomorrow.

And when the dust finally settled, the Korean wrested back control with a roller-coaster 73 and two-stroke lead at 213.

Gallardo carded a 72 that lifted him into a tie for second at 215 with Bobe Salahog, who had for a 70, while Yabut closed out with a 74 for joint fourth at 216.

Charles Lee threatened to storm into contention but a double bogey on No. 15 halted his charge, and he settled for a 67, tying Yabut at fourth.
