IRONMAN Davao draws 3,000 entries
MANILA, Philippines — The Gwapa Dabawenya Run will serve as highlight of the IRONMAN 70.3 Davao where a record field of 3,000 will answer the starting gun tomorrow.
First launched in 2024 with more than 2,000 runners, the Gwapa Run was created to celebrate the unique charm, resilience and confidence of Dabawenyas while encouraging women to embrace fitness and wellness through running.
With the premier IRONMAN 70.3 Davao drawing 1,000 triathletes, and the Sunrise Spring and IRONKIDS attracting a combined field of more than 600 participants, the turnout easily makes it a record event for the entire weekend.
The Gwapa Run, sponsored by 2GO and presented by Sun Life, highlights the spirit of the modern Dabawenya – strong, confident and community-driven.
The event, organized by Sunrise Events, Inc. and the government of Davao City, features 5-km, 10-km and 21-km distances.
