‘The wait is over!’: Mikey Williams set to suit up for Converge in PBA

MANILA, Philippines — Mikey Williams seems headed back to the PBA.
The Converge FiberXers announced Williams’ return to the team, a few years after he last played in the league.
“The wait is over! Mikey Williams is now a FiberXer,” Converge said in its Facebook page.
“Welcome to Purple Nation!”
Williams, the former two-time PBA Finals Most Valuable Player for the TNT Tropang 5G, last played in 2023.
His contract was terminated by the Tropang 5G that same year, although his rights were retained by the squad.
The former fourth overall pick in the 2020 PBA Draft was then traded by TNT last year to Converge for Jordan Heading.
Now, it seems he will be back in action when the Commissioner’s Cup tips off on March 11.
Williams, a spitfire guard, will be a huge boost offensively for the team that boasts a loaded lineup that includes Alec Stockton, Juan Gomez de Liano, Jonnel Policarpio, and the twin towers of Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar.
