Girls Altas secure semis incentive

MANILA, Philippines — The Perpetual Help Junior Lady Altas kept their perfect run and secured a coveted Final Four incentive on a come-from-behind 18-25, 26-24, 25-14 whipping of their Lyceum U-GenTri counterparts yesterday at the Arellano Gym in Pasay City.

Rookie Elizha Sildo, an Imus City native, scored 11 points, with a service ace, while Ramiel Pangilinan also fired 11 with five on attacks plus six blocks to lead the Junior Lady Altas to their fifth straight win.

The Sandy Rieta-mentored team also drew nine points on top of four excellent receives from Sherrie Rose Acosta and 10 excellent sets plus three digs from Jaja Monte against the LPU team led by Aleah Alipan with 19 points, all on attacks.

The Altas Girls will be up against defending champion Arellano Baby Lady Chiefs on March 16 in a match that will determine who will occupy the top post in the Last Four.

Meanwhile, the Junior Altas Spikers walloped the EAC Brigadiers, 25-19, 25-20, 25-21, for their ninth win against two losses.

Team captain Gab Macatuno led the Perpetual charge with 12 points.
