Celebrating ANTA’s latest drop
Hold on to your basketball shorts. ANTA is rolling out a 12-team UAAP/NCAA 3x3 tournament to celebrate the release of the limited edition KAI 3 ‘432Hz’ at the Quantum Skyview in Gateway Mall 2, Araneta City, tomorrow starting at 11 a.m. It’s not just about the competition but also the excitement of bringing out the third colorway of NBA star Kyrie Irving’s third ANTA signature shoe, clearly the best iteration linked to the 2014 FIBA World Cup MVP ever.
ANTA senior marketing manager Mikko Abello is over the moon talking about ‘432Hz.’ The first two KAI 3 signature shoes with ANTA were the ‘CNY’ (Chinese New Year) in time for the Lunar New Year and ‘Mentality’ which was a tribute to Kobe Bryant, released during the NBA All-Star Weekend. The third colorway is a classic collectible and wearable.
“It’s inspired by the 432Hz frequency waves, believed to be a frequency of balance, harmony and energy that creates calmness to both body and mind, similar to being in tune with your nature and being,” explains Abello. “The colors perfectly reflect the concept. Violet, the tone that represents the highest frequency in the light spectrum, giving energy and inspiration. Pink conveys physical recovery and mental sharpness. Metallic gold, inspired by the ‘tuning fork,’ a sound wave device that awakens energy and balance.” With the KAI 3 ‘432Hz,’ Abello says “be prepared to experience a new game and inner power.”
All players from the 12 schools participating in the 3x3 joust will be given KAI shoes but only the semifinalists and finalists will receive the KAI 3s. The winners take home the KAI 3 ‘432Hz’ and P100,000 cash. The 12 teams are split into four pools of three. Pool A consists of EAC, San Beda and UP. Pool B is made up of Adamson, Perpetual and San Sebastian. Pool C is composed of Ateneo, Benilde and National University. Lyceum, UE and UST are in Pool D.
Abello says only a limited quantity of KAI 3 ‘432Hz’ will be exclusively available at KAI Space Manila. Irving and Klay Thompson are ANTA’s lead basketball endorsers. Thompson’s latest iteration of his shoe is the KT 11 and his signature line, along with Irving’s, is accessible at ANTA’s 55 stores all over the country.
“Other brands have been resorting to re-releasing product from the ‘90s and 2000s,” notes Abello. “There’s been a problem with creativity and coming up with really ground-breaking new technology in sportswear and sneakers. ANTA’s cutting-edge tech and fresh designs would probably be the biggest factors that have helped catapult the brand to become the third largest sportswear group in the world. Other brands under the ANTA umbrella are Wilson, Arc’teryx and Salomon.” Check out ANTA’s event tomorrow and discover how it’s taking the sports world by storm.
