Lady Altas drub Lady Pirates

MANILA, Philippines — University of Perpetual Help changed tact after its opening-set defeat to turn back Lyceum, 19-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-16, yesterday and stayed atop Group A in NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball at the San Andres Gym.

“I just told them, let’s read them (LPU) and anticipate what they’re going to do,” said UPHSD coach Sandy Rieta. “It was the reason we lost the first set, we just waited for what they would do.”

That strategy change worked as the Las Piñas-based lady spikers took charge in the last three sets to claim a seventh triumph in eight outings.

Cyrylle Allmenania and Jemalyn Menor fired  20 and 16 points, respectively.
