Van Sickle, Petro core to Nxled?

MANILA, Philippines — Brooke Van Sickle and most of the players orphaned by the Petro Gazz disbandment may have ended up with Nxled after all.

This was bared by a source from a PVL team that is in hot pursuit of Van Sickle and her Petro Gazz teammates, adding that the players have already forged a contract with Nxled after their contracts expired by the end of last yeaar.

“We’re always looking to upgrade but we’re told Nxled signed many of the Petro (Gazz) players,” the source told The STAR.

That included Van Sickle, a two-time champion and conference MVP.

There were plans for a Petro Gazz-Nxled merger as early as last year but it was nipped in the bud by the league, forcing Petro Gazz, a four-time champion, to file an indefinite leave.
