Acrocity bags 15th XABL crown

MANILA, Philippines —  The Acrocity/MEC team kept its dominance of the Xavier Alumni Basketball League (XABL) as it bagged its 15th title recently at the Xavier School Sports Center in Greenhills, San Juan and reinforced its stature as the winningest squad in XABL history.

True to its championship DNA, Acrocity beat six other teams to enter the finals, and went on to win the crown with a 91-85 win over Uratex.

Season MVP Gab Banal finished with 31 points on top of 17 rebounds and eight assists while finals MVP Charles Tiu put in 22 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, hitting a crucial three-pointer and putback to seal the win and a 7-0 tournament sweep.

Former PBA stalwart Joseph Yeo scored 14 points, while Paul Chua, with eight rebounds, and Gavin Kua contributed six points each. Franz Dy pumped in eight points, and Gio Sia and Jervis Tan chipped in two points each. Other members of the team of Caesar Wongchuking and Merrick Chua, are Randy Chua, Mike Ng, Alejandro Torres, Jerald Sze, Ezer Lim, Bryan Go, Marty Tio, Joseph Chua, Marvin Sioco, and Royd Tan.
