Strong Group enlists General in PVL
MANILA, Philippines -- Strong Group Athletics added veteran libero Bia General to its cabal of new free agent recruits as it gears up toward strengthening its two teams in Farm Fresh and ZUS Coffee in the PVL All-Filipino Conference unfurling late this month.
“The general is here,” said the Frank Lao-owned franchise on its social media account.
While it wasn’t announced yet which team she is headed to, General, whose last squad was Choco Mucho, should bring to the table a steady floor defense that she had built her reputation from.
The news came a day after SGA also picked up a battle-scarred spiker in Royse Tubino, a former teammate of General at the Flying Titans.
A month before, SGA had acquired Cess Robles, Karen Verdeflor and Renee Penafiel.
ZUS coach Jerry Yee told The STAR that Robes and Verdeflor went to his team.
“We’re hopeful they’ll help the team,” said Yee.
