MANILA, Philippines — Chery Tiggo isn’t crossing over to the next Premier Volleyball League season anymore.

This after the Crossovers announced their disbandment after five memorable years in the league that was highlighted by their one and only championship in the Bacarra, Ilocos Norte bubble in 2020.

“With heavy hearts, we announce the closing of the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers' chapter, after 11 unforgettable years in professional volleyball,” the franchise said in a recent statement.

“From our beginnings as the Foton Tornadoes to our journey as the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers, we celebrate the milestones: the championships, the talent we developed, and representing the Philippines on the biggest stage,” it added.

The team's first five years was with the now defunct Philippine Superliga before it crossed over to the PVL in its maiden season as a professional league.

And now it’s the end of the road.

Its departure meant its loaded roster that included Ara Galang, Aby Maraño, Mylene Paat, Jen Nierva, Cess Robless, Pauline Gaston, Imee Hernandez, Shaya Adorado, Jasmine Nabor, Alina Bicar, Joyme Caganda and Cza Carandang among others will be free agents and put into a dispersal draft soon.

“To our leagues, sponsors, staff, and most especially, to our players past and present, thank you for your dedication and heart. To our incredible fans: you have been the soul of this team. Your unwavering support made this journey extraordinary,” it said.

“The legacy of resilience, teamwork, and the spirit of the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers will endure. We are profoundly grateful for every moment.”
