Loman, ONE Championship sever ties
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino mixed martial artist Stephen Loman and ONE Championship have parted ways, the two sides said.
Loman, who last competed inside the ONE ring back in September 2023, bid goodbye to the fighting promotion in an Instagram post.
“Thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to showcase my skills on the global stage of ONE Championship. Representing my Lord, my team, and my country Philippines under this banner has been an honor I will carry for the rest of my career,” the former Brave FC bantamweight champion said.
“Even though my time with ONE was brief, it was significant, unforgettable, and full of experiences that improved me as a person and as an athlete,” he added.
He also thanked ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong for the opportunity, as well as fellow Filipinos for the support.
“I hope and pray you’ll continue to stand with me as I take on this next chapter in my journey to greatness. The road ahead is long, challenging, and probably uncertain, but that is exactly where champions are forged,” said Loman.
“I leave ONE Championship with gratitude, respect, and nothing but good memories. The journey continues.”
ONE, in a statement, said the parting of ways was mutual.
“Stephen Loman has been a consummate professional throughout his time with ONE Championship, and we are grateful for the exciting fights and memorable performances he delivered to our fans around the world,” the statement read.
“After discussions with Stephen and his team, we have mutually agreed to part ways at this time. We deeply appreciate his professionalism, dedication, and the impact he made inside the Circle. We wish Stephen nothing but continued success in his future endeavors.”
Loman is holding a 17-3 win-loss record in his MMA career.
