MANILA, Philippines — San Beda and University of Perpetual Help lived up to their lofty billing as they dumped their respective foes yesterday and advanced to the semifinals of NCAA Season 101 at the MOA Arena.

The Lions, the Group B top-notchers, devoured the Lyceum Pirates, 91-67, while the Altas, No. 1 in Group A, turned back the Jose Rizal U Bombers, 81-74, to barge into the best-of-three semis tentatively set Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

San Beda will battle the winner of the St. Benilde-Mapua duel while UPHSD tackles either Letran or Arellano U.

Yukien Andrada led the way for the Lions with a game-high 21 points including six booming treys while Agjanti Miller scattered 18 points laced with three triples.

Big men Bismark Lina and Daniel Celzo and point guard Nygel Gonzales presided over the domination off the boards, plucking 13, 13 and 10, respectively.

For the Altas, Mark Gojo Cruz did most of the scoring with 23 points as Patrick Sleat contributed 14 points, 10 assists and six boards.
